Who else loves their hair? Raise your hand! I know I’ve had my hair ups and downs throughout the years. I’ve changed my style and my preference for straight to wavy/curly hair. But what has been the constant through all these changes?! My hair care brand. If you’re new here, then here’s the short summary – I’ve been a loyal Aveda customer for 20+ years since my childhood. I’ve used a variety of their product lines and most recently have been using their Rosemary Mint / Brilliance line (more information in this blog post about keeping my hair healthy & shiny).

With my Chinese-American hair that is very fine and straight, I always thought I didn’t have enough of it. Now some hair stylists may strongly disagree with this statement but in comparison to my twin sister’s gorgeous locks, I had half a head of hair! So when Aveda released their new product line, Invati Advanced System, I was intrigued to give it a try to add volume to my own hair and replace any thinning hair loss. Plus, it was the perfect combination to one of my favorite products, Thickening Tonic!

I’ve been using the Aveda Invati Advanced System for a month now and here are my thoughts…

• I love the 3-step process – Shampoo, Conditioner and Scalp Revitalizer. This makes it easy to follow the entire product line from the shower to styling my hair.
• The product has a pleasant, woody smell. If you know me, then you know I’m very sensitive to perfumes and fragrances and anything that upsets my nose will not be used in my home!
• It actually works! My hair feels thicker and has more volume.

How do I actually use the Aveda Invati Advanced System?

• Shampoo and Condition in shower
• Spray hair with Brilliance Damage Control to protect it from heat and comb through
• Air dry my hair for 30-60 minutes so it’s not soaking wet when I dry it with a hair dryer
• Spray in Scalp Revitalizer and Thickening Tonic, massage in and comb through my hair
• Dry hair with Harry Josh Pro Tools Dryer, lifting my roots for more volume (my version on sale, new version)
• Finish my style with Light Elements Smoothing Fluid
