I cannot believe it’s taken me this long to write about this striped skirt! I purchased it years ago and haven’t been wearing it as often. When I pulled it out of my closet to style it for spring, I felt inspired to show you all the ways I’ve worn it! Of course, that would be a VERY long blog post so I picked out my Top 4 Ways to Style this striped skirt that are versatile for many settings!

Skirt: This is an old Gabriella Rocha striped skirt in black/white. I have also styled it in mint green (see it on this blog post). It looks and fits similar to the Modcloth Skater Skirt – I wear size Small in that one without alterations.

This may be my favorite outfit…although it’s so difficult to pick just one because I LOVE all these outfits. I was inspired by the season changes for this outfit. This photo was taken when it was a little colder out and I opted for a modern chic look by pairing a tunic blouse in a rich-green hue with the skirt, black faux leather jacket, black opaque tights and black heels. To add a little more interest to this outfit with all the black hues, I opted for a bow belt in a cognac brown color. It brings in more contract and feminine detail with the bow.

Style Tip: When adding a belt to this shorter striped skirt, I recommend a skinny belt at 0.5-0.75 inch width. Anything wider may overpower this outfit.

Transition this Outfit to Spring: Simply remove the opaque tights! If you also want to change out the tunic blouse, opt for a bright green hue such as mint green in a sleeveless style.

I wear business casual to work and wanted an option that was a little more work appropriate with this skirt. For this, I stayed with a black-hue with a halter top in a work-appropriate fabric because of its thicker sweater style (cotton/polyester blend). For more interest, I added in a medium-sized statement necklace in a classic pearl style and pops of color with my go-to work handbag and bow-detailed heels. A mentor once told me to wear red in my work outfits for a powerful and confident look and I continue to incorporate this color in shoes/accessories! I forgot to photograph this, but to finish the look, add in a favorite black cardigan or blazer. Favorites of mine include the NIC+ZOE 4-way cardigan and Theory blazer.

Style Tip: For those uncomfortable wearing this skirt to work because of its shorter length, opt for a longer striped skirt that reaches just above or below the knee. I’m linking up a few I found below!

Transition this Outfit to Spring: Personally, I think this outfit is already ready for spring! If you want to change out a piece, consider switching out the heels and handbag to pastel colors – I actually own a subtle mint green heel and mint green handbag I could use for a spring-ier look!

I LOVED my outfit so much for work that I thought I could easily transition it into the weekend! I simply added a chambray shirt over this work outfit and opted to tie the ends together. To make this more casual for the weekend, I also rolled the sleeves of the chambray shirt.

Style Tip: Experiment with tying the shirt ends different ways and rolling the sleeves of this shirt to change up the look.

Transition this Outfit to Spring: Again, I think this ready for spring but you could also lighten up the chambray fabric to a linen fabric that is more breathable or opting for a lighten blue color in chambray.

Let’s bring in the color and casual sandals! This was a fun look with pastels I love – lilac purple and mint green! I love a versatile camisole tank and this one is a favorite reversible one in a light and dark purple. I love flat sandals in cognac brown or tan colors and the glitter detailing on these elevate the look. I also added in the bow belt in cognac to coordinate with my sandals! For chillier weather at nighttime, I opted for a versatile cardigan in a neutral color! It’s my NIC+ZOE 4-way cardy and I can opt to tie the ends of it different ways for multiple looks! Learn more on my previous blog post with video!

Style Tip: This camisole tank style is versatile to wear for casual or work looks. Because the camisole tank is lined and the neckline is appropriate, I wear it to work styled with a completer piece such as a cardigan or blazer. I wear a strapless bra with it (my favorite is this one with sticky pads on the side). I also tuck it into my pants/skirt for a polished look. In general, I rarely wear tops hanging loose. This is because of my petite-frame and the long hemline on many tops – it is definitely also appropriate to wear tops loose and you may feel more comfortable this way versus tucking them in.

Transition this Outfit to Spring: Of course, I think this outfit is already spring appropriate! Find your favorite spring-hues or textures such as this scallop cami top I own and flat sandals or block-heeled sandals!
