My Favorite Brands and Stores

These are my favorite stores to shop online and for petite-friendly fits. There are also discount codes for readers for some of the brands.

If you’re looking for my Current Picks from IG stories or my Instagram Outfits please visit those pages! Reach out with questions anytime – concerned about purchasing from a brand or online? – let me know! I do a LOT of online shopping since I have limited time to visit stores (especially in LA traffic).

How to Start a Capsule Wardrobe (with free Starter Kit download)

Amazon – I love Amazon for their variety of items you can find, Prime membership and shipping, along with their extras like Amazon Video, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Music and Amazon Kindle. I’ve been an Amazon Prime member since 2007! I have definitely taken advantage of videos, books, and music. My family has used Amazon Fresh before and have been pleased with the delivery service. My favorite items from Amazon include shoe inserts & nail care. Shop all of my favorites on my Amazon Shop!

Ann Taylor – Ann Taylor is one of my go-to petite-friendly stores for work outfits! I wear size XXS Petite and 00 Petite in most tops, pants, jackets, skirts and dresses. *Note, the 3 pencil skirts I own from Ann Taylor all are 00P and were tailored to take in the waist and taper the skirt from the hip to hem. My favorite items from Ann Taylor are often displayed in my Work Outfit tab or on several blog posts (search for Ann Taylor to find them all).

AvedaWhy I stopped using Aveda here!

Banana Republic – Similar to Ann Taylor above, Banana Republic is a go-to store for petite-friendly fits and work-appropriate outfits. I again wear size XXS Petite or 00 Petite in all items at BR. Most items are also found on my BR Page or several blog posts. My hands-down favorite product from Banana Republic are their Sloan pants – I own several colors in 00P or 0P (sized up to machine-wash a few years ago) – and wear them to work a LOT.

Bloomingdale’s – Before living in Los Angeles, I didn’t know much about Bloomingdale’s (none were in Wisconsin growing up). I have since fallen in love with this store – they have a great selection of affordable clothing (my favorite brand is Aqua for dresses/tops in size XS) along with investment pieces such as my Burberry jackets & handbags. They often have AMAZING sales so I add items to my Wishlist and wait for a sale…that’s how I picked up all of my pieces there so far – on sale! Bonus, free shipping and free returns (along with no tax if your state doesn’t have a store). I’ve found it has better sales than it’s competitor Nordstrom.

DermalogicaWhy I stopped using Dermalogica here!

FIGS – You of course know FIGS from my scrubs review posts along with my lifewear and tee review. They have added more styles & I’ll be talking more about how I wear their products (including their popular Zamora Jogger Pant) as lounge wear & athleisure wear for complete versatility (video here). Latest post: Best Jogger Pants & Mandarin-Collar Top Blog Post – how to wear as scrubs, lounge wear and runnings errands!

J. Crew – I love J. Crew because of their variety of clothing – they offer work-appropriate outfits, casual attire along with great selections for men, kids and even wedding! J. Crew always offers classic styles that they keep in stock for years (with new colors added each year). I LOVE that they have expanded their Petite Sizing Selection and now I’m able to wear more of their clothing! I usually wear XXS Petite, 00 Petite or at times XXX-Small Regular (yes there are 3 extras in that size). I would say that their work pants run larger than my go-to ones at Banana Republic and their tops can be boxier than other styles from BR or Ann Taylor but they have some of the best New Arrivals each season with unique trends that are still classic. My favorite item from J. Crew? Their selection of jackets and coats (one of my posts here).

Kohl’s – This has been a staple in my home since I was a child. I remember going here for home goods (towels, photo frames, etc) growing up and they have continued with their variety of items for the entire family.

Land’s End – Many of you may not have heard of Land’s End unless you leave in the Midwest. I grew up near one and remember it as the place to purchase cold-weather attire. Today, it’s still known for it’s classic styles in fall/winter clothing & accessories, along with new styles for everyone in the family and of course, uniforms for school (for those with children). My current pick for winter include these tech-friendly leather gloves – yes, I live in LA but I do wear gloves in winter to help protect my hands from the cold mornings.

LOFT – To continue my sentiments above with Ann Taylor and Banana Republic, LOFT is a go-to for work-appropriate clothing and casual wear. I wear size XXS Petite or 00 Petite in their styles as well. I consider LOFT a more affordable option to Ann Taylor and the place I shopped more often while in pharmacy school. I have now transitioned to shopping more often at AT.

M. Gemi – This is my favorite high-quality Italian shoe company! I first came across them before I started blogging in 2016 and have since purchased 3 pairs of shoes. I wear size 35.5 in most of their styles (35 in their new sneaker though). They are reviewed in these previous posts on sandals, heels & how to wear heels in comfort. They manufacture a limited-quantity of each shoe style so once they are sold-out it is difficult to find the style again. I recommend purchasing right away if you truly fall in love with a product so you don’t have regrets (I definitely regret not picking up a couple colors of the Pastoso style…now I’m on the waitlist). There are a few sizes left in my favorite sandal here and their new sneaker is on sale here.

Neiman Marcus – I turn to Neiman Marcus for investment pieces. My favorite is a Burberry Quilted Jacket for them that I picked up (of course on sale) last year. Bonus, many states don’t have Neiman Marcus so that means no sales tax for you and free shipping + free returns!

Nordstrom – Nordstrom has been a favorite of mine for years. It carries a lot of different brands and offers petite-friendly fits. My favorite brands from Nordstrom include Bobeau, Caslon and Aquatalia. They also now carry J. Crew clothing!

Sephora Why I Stopped using Sephora makeup here!

Sheec Socks – This is my favorite sock company! They have amazing options for no-show socks for ballet flats and ankle booties along with socks for tall boots. They are based in New York and I own several pairs of socks from them. More info on my post on wearing ballet flats comfortably here and full blog on wearing sock with ballet flats, fall booties and tall boots here.

Talbots – Talbots is a staple store for classic women’s clothing. And they are celebrating their 70th anniversary this year! If you haven’t checked out Talbots recently, they have added more items that appeal to Millennials like myself while also carrying items my mom loves. I wear Petite P at Talbots – a few items are still a little large on me including dresses and pants but sweaters, tops and jackets fit well. A few hidden gems are their accessories including my favorite reversible belt and sandals.

Target – Target is my favorite go-to store for everything! It literally has everything you need – all my household products come from Target along with food, decor and random items. I love that they have expanded their clothing lines and cater to more women. My favorite item is their sandals – my post here. I cannot wait for their Magnolia Hearth & Heart collection to arrive in November!

Vince Camuto – This is a go-to shoe company for fall ankle booties and boots! You’ve probably since my favorite on this post. I wear size 5.5 or 6.

White House Black Market – WHBM has improved their petite-friendly options and expanded their color palette in recent years (hence no longer selling only white & black clothing). I’ve found petite-friendly fits from them & look forward to a few new arrivals to try on this fall.
